Case study
Sport 2
A football live score app that keeps fans close to every match, with live scores, match details, standings and team news in one place.

The brief
Football fans jump between several apps to follow live scores, line-ups and news. Sport 2 brings it together in one app that is quick to scan during a match and deep enough to explore after it.
What we did
- Mapped the problems fans have today and a solution for each one
- Built a user persona, empathy map and journey map from user research
- Planned the full user flow before any screens were drawn
- Created the colour system, iconography and Futura PT type scale
- Designed onboarding, favourite teams, home, match, league and team screens
- Made light and dark versions of the core screens
01
Problems and solutions
Three problems came up again and again: slow live updates, cluttered screens and little personalisation. Each one was paired with a clear design answer before the work moved on.

02
Research and persona
User research and a persona kept every decision tied to a real kind of fan: Roberto, a 20-year-old student and football fan from Manchester.

03
Mapping the experience
The journey map and user flow show how a fan moves from opening the app to following a live match, so nothing important is more than a tap or two away.

04
Visual language
A dark, high-contrast interface with a vivid colour system, a consistent icon set and the Futura PT type family.

05
Final screens
Onboarding, favourite teams, a personalised home in light and dark, and detailed match, league and team views.
